Social Pastiche Posters
A set of posters representing work from the constructivist movement.
OBJECTIVE
For this project I was assigned to choose a historical design movement to research and then use that research in the making of a set of posters. This should include a research poster as well as a current social issue poster.
APPROACH
For this project I chose to work with the Constructivist movement. I started by researching the movement and creating sketches of poster ideas. My idea for the social issue poster was based around war and the destruction it causes. I found this to be ironic because of the name of the movement being the opposite, construction compared to destruction. I then worked to create multiple research poster layouts, all of which included sharp geometric shapes and primary color palettes. I then narrowed it down to one research poster and began work on the current social issue poster. With this I used similar colors and shapes in my design. I also created an easy-to-remember phrase and a scene of destruction.
